Register as an approved OSCAR provider
We can pay OSCAR subsidies to you if you're a an approved OSCAR provider and registered with us.
When you register with us:
- parents and caregivers can apply to get OSCAR subsidies for the children in your service, and
- we can pay these subsidies to you.
If you're a new owner of an OSCAR centre, there are things you need to do before you can register with us. Information for new owners of OSCAR centres
Follow these steps to register with us.
Step 1 - Become an accredited OSCAR provider
Before you can register with us, your OSCAR programme must be accredited through Te Kāhui Kāhu.
Applying for accreditation takes at least 3 months.
Once your OSCAR programme is accredited, you can register with us.
Step 2 - Fill out our registration form
Complete the Childcare/OSCAR provider registration form:
Step 3 - Gather your supporting documents
We need a copy of your:
- bank account
- Social Services Accreditation (see Step 1)
- fee structure.
Step 4 - Send the form and supporting documents
To get the form and supporting documents to us, you can either:
- email them to us at childcareproviders@msd.govt.nz
- drop them into any Work and Income service centre, or
- post them to:

We’ll be in touch once everything’s been processed or if we need anything else.
Tell us when things change
We need to know when things change for your organisation and for the children in your service. If you don't tell us, you may be overpaid and will need to pay the money back.
