Change your bank account

If you want to change the bank account that your benefits or payments are paid into don’t close your old bank account until you’ve received a payment into your new account.

Important information

It takes 5 working days for your account details to be changed. If you've already closed your old bank account you need to contact us

How to tell us

You need to:

  • complete the Change of bank account form
  • get proof of your ID
  • drop these documents to your nearest service centre

  • Getting New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension

    If your payments go to an overseas bank account, or you want your payments to go to an overseas bank account, contact Senior Services on 0800 552 002

  • Getting Youth Payment or Young Parent Payment

    If you get Youth Payment or Young Parent Payment, you also need to contact your Youth Service provider directly to tell them about your change in circumstances.
