Change your bank account
If you want to change the bank account that your benefits are paid into don’t close your old bank account until you’ve received a payment into your new account.
It takes 5 working days for your account details to be changed. If you've already closed your old bank account you need to contact us
How to tell us
The easiest way to update your bank account information is to use the Report a change option in our online services.
What you'll need:
- the name and branch number of the bank or building society
- your new account number
- the name on the new account.
If you can’t use My Account you need to complete the change of bank account form and take it to your nearest office.
