Thank you for advising us of your child(ren)'s details. We'll update your record within 5 working days and write to you if there is any change to your payments.

If you receive Emergency Maintenance Allowance and your last child is no longer going to be supported by you, please call us on 0800 559 009 as soon as possible to discuss what ongoing assistance you may be eligible for.

If your child is not intending to return to school or an educational provider we may be able to provide support and/or information for them to move into further training or employment. Remember to tell us straight away about any changes that could affect your payments. The sort of changes you need to tell us about include:

  • You earn or receive any money, or get other help that changes your situation
  • You start to live with a partner, enter a civil union, marry or separate
  • Any children come into your care or leave your care
  • You leave the area or go overseas, even if this is for a short time
  • You change your name, address or bank account
