Medical Appeals Board
The Medical Appeals Board makes sure that correct and fair decisions are made about benefit eligibility and obligations.
If you don't agree with a decision we've made on medical grounds about your capacity to work, you can ask the board to take a fresh look.
What do they do?
The Medical Appeals Board takes a fresh look at all the information about your medical condition and your capacity to work. It will consider whether the correct decision was made in accordance with current legislation.
The Board is made up of 3 people who are either doctors or health professionals who rehabilitate people when sick, injured or disabled, or they have some other expertise that’s relevant to your case.
None of the board members has had anything to do with the assessments that were used to help us make our decision.
Talk to your case manager or call us if you have any questions.
