Supported Living Payment - single 18+ deduction tables
Use this table to estimate how much will be deducted from your Supported Living Payment benefit payment if you earn income.
Your deductions
Clients who are receiving Supported Living Payment can receive up to $160 per week before their income will affect their benefit.
For clients who earn over $160 per week:
- income between $160 and $250 per week, their benefit is reduced by 30 cents for each $1 of income
- income over $250 per week, their benefit is reduced by 70 cents for every $1 of income.
We calculate this by:
- We take the income you get between $160 and $250 (maximum will be $90) and multiply by 0.3.
- If your income is over $250, we take your total income and minus $250, then multiply by 0.7
- Then we add these two amounts together.
If you have personal earnings, e.g. you're working, you can earn up to $180 a week (before tax), before your payment is affected.
Any other payments you get, e.g. Accommodation Supplement, may also be affected.
If you earn over a certain amount, you won't qualify for Supported Living Payment. We call this the 'Gross weekly income cut-out point'.
