We know there's a lot to sort out when someone passes away. We need to know so we can review their payments, and we may be able to help with other things, like a Funeral Grant.

How you tell us depends if they were getting NZ Super or not.
If they weren't getting NZ Super

If they were getting NZ Super
If they were a senior client, you can fill out our online form.
Register a senior's death with usexternal
If you're their partner and you qualify for NZ Super, your payment will change to a single rate. We'll contact you to talk about this.
We'll also send a Funeral Grant application form to this person's partner. If they were single, we'll send this application form to you.
Request estate details
If you're from a law firm or a trustee company, eg Public Trust, you can complete this form to request estate details for someone who's died.
