How we use Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)

We have CCTV in place, both inside and outside all of our public offices to monitor your safety and the safety of our staff.

We'll access CCTV footage if we need to investigate or review a health and safety or security incident.

In limited situations, we may disclose the footage to Police or to another government agency that shares our premises. This is so they can investigate a health and safety or security incident. We may also disclose the footage if we are required to do so by law.

What information is collected and how long is it kept

CCTV cameras record video images but not sound and operate 24/7. Footage is stored in a secure area for up to 60 days.

Only authorised MSD staff and people or organisations authorised by MSD Health, Safety and Security will be able to access the recorded footage.

Our cameras operate in line with our MSD CCTV Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.

Your rights

You are entitled to access your information that we hold. If you would like a copy of this, please call us and we'll get the office involved to arrange this. You can also visit the office and talk to them about it.
