Emergency housing
If you have nowhere to stay tonight or in the next 7 nights, we may be able to pay for you to stay in emergency housing.
Emergency housing is short-term accommodation for people who need it because:
- they can’t stay where they are, and
- they have nowhere else to go.

Cost of emergency housing
In most cases we'll cover the cost of your accommodation for the first 7 nights if you qualify. Then you'll have to start paying for some of the accommodation costs. This is called an Emergency Housing Contribution.
Security deposit
If you're going to stay in emergency housing, your housing supplier may ask for a security deposit.
