We'll talk with you about what support the person needs to get the skills needed for the job.

Depending on how much support they need, you may be able to get a wage contribution for:

  • $5,638.68 (GST Inclusive) in total over 24 weeks, or
  • $11,277.36 (GST Inclusive) in total over 36 weeks.

The Flexi-wage process

We can help you find suitable staff. However, if you have an employee in mind, contact us before they start work. We can talk to you about whether you can get Flexi-wage for them.

Note

If you contact us after the employee has started work, this may affect your eligibility.

We'll need to check that both your business and the person meet the criteria for Flexi-wage. Once we’ve checked you both meet this criteria and you choose to hire them, we'll discuss with you the amount of wage contribution, the duration of this, and any training and ongoing support if it’s needed.

We'll then draft up a contract outlining these details and email it to you.

To get Flexi-wage underway, you'll need to complete the contract and email it back to us along with proof of your bank account number.

What happens next

While you’re getting Flexi-wage, we'll:

  • contact you regularly to see how things are going
  • send you a claim form – you need to complete and send us an updated form every 4 weeks.

We'll make sure you know how to claim the Flexi-wage every 4 weeks.
