Horowhenua SuperGrans (HSG)
Horowhenua SuperGrans (HSG) provides life skills education using mature volunteers to teach these skills in the home of the client.
Clients either self-refer or are referred through another agency. The only criteria for entry is that you wish to learn an essential life skill. This may be cooking, budgeting, household routines or parenting – just to name a few. There is no cost to the client and confidentiality is assured.
We sometimes work with groups of clients provided by another agency to teach basic, nutritious and economic meals. We are contracted to deliver the Incredible Years Parenting Programme in the Horowhenua. We are holders of the Strengthening Families Discretionary Fund on behalf of the Local Management Group. We are currently funded through the SAGES programme (FACS).
