Jobseeker Support - couples - deduction tables
Use this table to estimate how much will be deducted from your Jobseeker Support payment if you're part of a couple.
Your deductions
If you have a partner and you're both getting, or entitled to get, a benefit in your own right (other than Veteran's Pension) then:
- you can jointly earn up to $160 a week before tax, before it affects your payment
- each of your benefits is reduced by 35 cents for every $1 of income you and your partner earn over $160 a week before tax.
Any other payments you get, eg, Accommodation Supplement, may also be affected.
You won't qualify for Jobseeker Support once you jointly earn over:
- $809 if you don't have children
- $848 if you do have children.
Estimate your deduction

This table is just an estimate. The deduction could change depending on your individual circumstances.
