What happens if you don’t meet your obligations
While you’re receiving a benefit from us, there are some things you and your partner must do. At any time, if you or your partner can’t meet your obligations, please talk to us. Unless you have a good reason for not meeting them, your benefit could reduce or stop.
Not taking any offer of suitable work
If you do not take any offer of suitable work, including temporary work, or work that is seasonal or subsidised, without a good and sufficient reason, your benefit will be reduced by up to half (if you have dependent children) or stopped (if you don't have dependent children) for 13 weeks.
If your benefit has been reduced or stopped, and you agree to take part in an approved activity for at least six weeks and you’re still entitled to your benefit, it will be increased or restarted.
