COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021

The Wage Subsidy August 2021 payments support employers to continue to pay employees and protect jobs for businesses affected by a change in COVID-19 alert levels and the COVID-19 Protection Framework.


The COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021 was available from 9am on 18 August 2021 to 11:59pm on 9 December 2021. It was to help employers and self-employed people keep paying staff and protect jobs impacted by the alert level changes from 17 August 2021.

If you’ve applied for a previous COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021, you need to wait until two weeks after you’ve applied before you can apply for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #8. If you apply earlier than this, your application for the new subsidy will be declined.
