COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021

The Wage Subsidy August 2021 payments support employers to continue to pay employees and protect jobs for businesses affected by a change in COVID-19 alert levels.


Applications for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #8 are open from 9am on 26 November until 11.59pm on 9 December 2021. Applications for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #7 closed at 11.59pm on 25 November.

Already applied?

We'll email you once your application has been processed to let you know the outcome. We usually process applications within three working days, however some applications may take longer. This could be because we need to check your details with Inland Revenue.

You can check your application status by calling our Wage Subsidy line on 0800 40 80 40

Even if you didn’t apply for a previous payment, you can apply for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #8 if you meet the eligibility criteria.

If you’ve applied for a previous COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021, you need to wait until two weeks after you’ve applied before you can apply for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #8. If you apply earlier than this, your application for the new subsidy will be declined.

If you applied and were eligible for the seventh wage subsidy, we’ll email you to tell you when you can apply for the new Wage Subsidy #8.
