Survey: moving to a low-emissions economy

The Government wants New Zealand to move to a low emissions future. This is part of their action to address climate change. The Government is asking New Zealanders how this move can be fair for everyone.

Background

New Zealand's emissions reduction plan sets out the direction for climate action over the next 15 years.

Part of this plan is to transition to a low emissions future (reduce greenhouse gas emissions).

The Government wants to make sure that any changes made to reduce our emissions are fair for all New Zealanders.

About the survey

The survey has been designed by the:

  • Ministry of Social Development (MSD), and
  • Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

The survey will ask your thoughts on:

  • the transition issues that are most important to you
  • what concerns you might have about moving to a low emissions future, and
  • what ideas you have to make the move fair for everyone.

Your response to the survey will help the Government develop an Equitable Transitions Strategy.

How to complete the survey

You can complete the survey online – it should only take about 10 minutes.

The survey is available in both English and te reo Māori. If you'd like to provide your views in another language, email MBIE at EquitableTransitionsStrategy@mbie.govt.nz
