Netherlands benefits and pensions paid in New Zealand
The agreement with the Netherlands allows clients who have resided in the Netherlands and/or who have paid contributions to the Netherlands national insurance scheme to receive the following Netherlands pensions when they are living in New Zealand:
- Children's Allowance
- Invalidity Benefit
- Old Age Pension
- Sickness Benefit
- Survivors Benefit
- Unemployment Benefit (in certain circumstances for seconded workers)
Netherlands pensions can be paid directly to the client by the Direct Payment Method or to a Special Banking Option account
Netherlands pensions are directly deducted from the client's New Zealand benefit or pension if they are paid by the direct payment method except for holiday pay and any portion of the pension that is based on their voluntary contributions
When a Netherlands pension exceeds the main benefit rate, the amount that exceeds the main benefit rate will be directly deducted from the partner's New Zealand benefit or pension if they receive one or from any Accommodation Supplement the client may receive as a non-beneficiary.
Medical examinations
The Netherlands authorities can require a client to be medically re-examined periodically to check that they are still entitled to a benefit or pension.
Any medical examinations are arranged by International Services.
