Manuals and procedures (Map)

Map contains information about employment and financial assistance available from Work and Income, and is one of the tools used by Work and Income staff when making decisions.

Work and Income is careful to ensure that the information here is as accurate as possible, but it does not replace the advice and decisions of its staff.

Deskfile

Deskfile contains rates and amounts used to administer benefits and other forms of financial assistance.

Employment and training

Employment and training is used to help address clients' barriers and move them towards sustainable employment. It includes the programmes and services available for employment and training, and related financial help.

Core policy

Main benefits

Main benefits are the primary forms of income support for our clients. Assistance is available to people who are looking for work, too ill to work, of retirement age or looking after other people.

Student assistance

Student assistance has information about financial assistance available for students via the student allowance, the student loan scheme, and unemployment benefit student hardship.

To or from overseas

To or from overseas has information for people who have overseas benefits or pensions, or who are entitled to be paid a New Zealand benefit or pension while overseas.
