Making repayments from overseas
If you are living overseas you can make repayments to us in a number of ways.
Cheque
If you want to make payment in full you can send a cheque to:

Please clearly print your name and your client number on the back of the cheque or attach the payment slip from the letter we send you.
Bank draft
A bank draft can be made out to either the Ministry of Social Development or Work and Income.
Because bank drafts don’t have your details on them, you’ll need to send these as well. Include the payment slip from the letter we send you, or write your name and client number on the back of the bank draft so that we can credit it to your account.

Internet Banking
You can only do this if you use a New Zealand bank account. You can use our details provided on the Bank Authority form to set this up.

New Zealand.
Remember to include your name and client number on the payment. Your bank may charge you for this service.

Payments on your behalf
You may be able to arrange for someone living in New Zealand to make payments on your behalf, for example a family member or friend. They will need to ensure that your name and client number are clearly shown on the payment.

Instalments using personalised deposit slips
We can send you personalised deposit slips on request that allow us to correctly identify you. These deposits can be made at any branch of Westpac Bank and also the Bank of Melbourne in Victoria. Contact our Corrections Unit to arrange this. You won't be charged for this service.
Internet banking
From a New Zealand bank account
