Mainstream Employment Programme
The Mainstream Employment Programme provides a package of subsidies, training, and other support to help people with significant disabilities get work in the State sector.
Who can get it
You may get a Mainstream subsidy if you:
- have a significant disability likely to last four or more years
- need to retrain for a new career following a serious injury
- have been working less than 15 hours per week
- have been looking for work for more than six months.
How much you can get
You will get the same rate of pay as anyone who’s performing similar duties in proportion to your working hours.
