War Disablement Pension
War Disablement Pension is a fortnightly payment for people who have a disability caused by a war or other emergency they served in.
Who can get it
You may get the War Disablement Pension if you have a disability caused by a war or other emergency you served in as a member of any one of the following:
- New Zealand Armed Forces in a war or other emergency, or on routine service before 1 April 1974
- New Zealand Mercantile Marine during World War II
- Mercantile Marine of another Commonwealth country during World War II (as long as you lived in New Zealand immediately before the war)
- Forces of another Commonwealth country during a war or other emergency (as long as you lived in New Zealand immediately before the war or emergency)
- Emergency Reserve Corps.
