Youth Transition Services
Youth Transition Services (YTS) is a free service which assists young people into further education, training, work or other meaningful activities. The goal of the service is to improve a person's long-term independence and wellbeing. YTS is offered by local providers with our support.

How YTS can help you
Left school or thinking about leaving? Now's a good time to start thinking about your future.
YTS can help you get the very best start as you move from school to work or further education or training.
Because we know that everyone’s situation is different, a YTS coach can work with you to develop your own programme that meets your needs. It may include anything that’s needed to help you make the move from school to work or further education or training. For example:
- getting the skills needed to find a job
- confidence building
- getting a drivers license
- training or education
- dealing with drug or alcohol issues.
The service is confidential - it's up to you what you tell us.
Using YTS
Local providers deliver YTS across New Zealand with our support.
To learn more about YTS in your area, all you need to do is contact your nearest provider.
