Setting up and running a community project
We want to work with you to help people in your community improve their lives and their families through paid employment. We support community projects that develop people's skills and improve job opportunities.
Help with funding
We'll work with you to so that people in your community get the right support and services. If your project is the type of project we're looking to support, we may be able to help with costs.
These projects help people gain voluntary, unpaid experience in a community or voluntary organisation.
As part of Budget 2009, there will be no new grants for Enterprising Communities projects from 1 July 2009. This means there will be no new funding approved from 28 May 2009. Over 80 community groups will continue to receive our support for their project.
Help with finding volunteers or subsidised workers
We can refer voluntary or subsidised workers to the right sort of project. You decide who you want to take on.
For volunteer workers, you don't have to pay wages, only a small allowance. You're also giving someone the opportunity to:
- develop their skills
- participate in the community
- improve their life through working.
For subsidised workers, you pay any difference between the subsidy and the wage for the job.
These projects help people gain voluntary, unpaid experience in a community or voluntary organisation.
Taskforce Green provides subsidies for projects that give people the opportunity to develop work habits and skills that will help them find and stay in work. It also benefits the community by providing workers for community or environmental projects that wouldn't otherwise be done.
