Benefit changes September 2010
In September 2010 we made some changes for people receiving benefits.
The changes were part of the Future Focus welfare reforms and designed to help people on benefits get back into work as quickly as possible. Further changes to Sickness Benefit came into effect on 2 May 2011.
We want to help you understand what the changes mean for you if you’re receiving a benefit or applying for assistance from Work and Income.
Some of you may now need to start looking for work. We know this can sometimes be scary, but we're here to help. And, if you can't work, we'll still be here to provide assistance.
