Earthquake Support Subsidy

Earthquake Support Subsidy was available from 4 September to 1 November 2010 to help businesses after the earthquake.  It relates to the September 2010 earthquake.

Making repayments

If you are an employer who received payments of Earthquake Support Subsidy and you have since received insurance payments to cover loss of wages, you can make repayments by:

Cheque

  1. Write a cheque for the amount repayable to "Ministry of Social Development"
  2. Write "ESS67060" on the back of the cheque
  3. Send the cheque to:
    National Accounting Centre
    Private Bag 3050
    Rotorua 3046

Direct credit

If you wish to pay by Direct Credit/Internet Banking you should make payment to :

Westpac account: 03 0049 0005363 26
Particulars = "ESS67060"
Reference = Business Name

Where to send verification of wage records

If you are an employer who received Earthquake Support Subsidy you were required to provide wage records for the subsidised period for employee/s you made an application for within 3 months.
