Our services
Kawakawa Community link provides services to individuals and families from Pakaraka across to Russell, and Opua to Motatau communities.
The main local employer is AFFCO at Moerewa (meat processing) and the labour market is mainly seasonal, dominated by the Bay of Islands' hospitality industry in the winter and orchard work in the summer.
Kawakawa Community Link offers a range of social and community services and also hosts a one day agency in the Community Link which is available to the New Zealand Superannuitant community.
A local management group will be established for the mid north area made up of government and non-government agency representatives. These groups will form the governance structure to support the established Community Links in Kawakawa and Kaikohe and the Kerikeri service centre moving forward.
The mandate of this cross-sector group is to ensure that the community are involved in determining the range of programmes and services the Community link will provide. The overall intent is to provide services to our community that will be accessible to everyone.
