Our services

The Kaitaia Community Link is the northern-most Community Link in the country. Situated in the "Real Far North", Kaitaia services clients from the North Hokianga to Mangamuka, across to Totara North and right up to Cape Reinga.

The area offers an abundance of natural resources including forestry, fishing and farming as well as beaches and a great climate.

Employment opportunities are expanding, with a large amount of commitment by iwi, community groups and local bodies to look at local solutions for local problems.

The Kaitaia Community Link focus is on the needs of the wider community. The current client base is 6500: 3350 working age clients and 3150 superannuitants.

A local management group made up of government and non-government agency representatives is used as the governance structure to support the Community Link moving forward.

The mandate of this cross-sector group is to ensure that the community are involved in determining the range of programmes and services the Community link will partner with. The overall intent is to ensure that there is no duplication of services that already exist in the Kaitaia community sector.
