Our services and partners

Birkenhead Community Link is located on the North Shore, within the Birkenhead shopping centre.  

Birkenhead Community Link partners include:

  • Beneficiaries Advocacy and Information Service – provides free benefit information and advocacy to beneficiaries and low income people in regard to financial assistance from Work and Income and Inland Revenue
  • Career Services – provides free information and advice for all New Zealanders whether at school, entering tertiary or trade training, returning to work or thinking about a career change
  • De Paul House – provides emergency housing for families plus a range of family support services, including outreach support and advocacy, play group, living skills and adult education programmes
  • Edge Employment – offers a range of employment-related services to people whose lives have been altered by the experience of mental illness
  • Housing New Zealand Corporation – provides housing, home ownership loans and education for those on lower incomes
  • Inland Revenue Department – provides information about Working for Families Tax Credit and Child Support
  • North Harbour Budgeting – provides a budgeting advice service including financial advice and planning
  • North Shore Women’s Centre – provides essential support services for women
  • The Salvation Army – provides budgeting and life skills assistance 
  • Waitakere Community Law – provides free legal advice to people in the community
  • Work and Income – provides help to get a job and income support
  • Workbridge – provides a professional employment service for people with disabilities, injury or illness
  • Youth Transition Services – assists young people into further education, training, work or meaningful activities.
